Halloween

I have to say how wonderful this Halloween was...so WARM. No rain or snow we could walk around with out coats on and people can actually see the costumes the kids are wearing...so FUN!!

Here we will end with a story that Gabe wrote for his class. He's actually a pretty good writer I was impressed.

Scary story: Happy Birthday!
written by Gabe Bishop

This was it, the final blow, thought Nate as he was crouched low,
ready to take the flag. As he walked low, he parted through a pair of trees
and stumbled upon an open field of grass. He was trapped, no more cover
but 2 foot grass to hide in. There it was, the Red teams flag. There was no-
one in sight, and that was a little disturbing to Nate. He crawled, the grass
eye level with his rifle on his back was when at this time, he heard a thump
against something behind him.
Nate flipped around and saw Robby, paint splattered against his face
guard, when he stood up and raised his paintball gun and started to return
to base where he could be revived. Now Nate was all alone, as he looked
around the field in the treetops when he saw Chris with his sniper rifle
aiming straight at Nate’s chest.Frightened but ready, Nate jumped up as a
pure black paintball missed him by nearly an inch. That’s when he heard
a battle cry of nearly 10 kids, so Nate decided to book it to the flag. As he
heard many shots wizz past him, none of them could seem to hit him.
As his mind cleared up, he realized that he had just ran into an
ambush. At that moment, Nate realized that he hadn't even bothered to get
his own gun and take some shots himself. As he reached back to gab his gun,
pain surged though his chest. He looked down to reveal a pink splatter of
paint, Chris's last bullet.
As Nate slowed to a stop,he raised his gun but the firing continued,
but not at him. Mark wizzed past, in a full on sprint with the flag towards
the center of the field, to pass the line where they would win. That was when
Nate realized that, Mark had died a year ago in a car accident. Now Nate
didn’t believe in ghosts, but that had just changed. Back at camp, Nate was
still trying to think this through. If mark had died, and this was his ghost,
then what was he doing? It was the strangest thing to think that he had come
back to win a paintball game of capture the flag. Through out that night,
Nate heard rumors that mark had come to kill Chris, marks worst enemy.
Nate had known that mark would have done anything to get revenge
on Chris, but never found the chance. Nate went back to his tent, and had
trouble sleeping. But as always, sleep finally met him. The next morning,
Nate awoke to an explosion that sent his ears ringing.
He went outside to find that it was still dark. He checked his watch,
and it was only 2:00 am. Probably just some members of the red team
pulling pranks with fire crackers. Then at that instant, another explosion
happened and he saw a great big fire where the cars were, with gallons of

car chunks scattered through out the forest.
There was only 1 car left and that was when he saw mark, heading
towards the last car with a flame thrower. At this instant, Nate realized that
mark was floating about 5 inches above the ground. On the other side of
the woods, the red team was gathered together, ready with their paintball
gear. They started to take fire instantly, but stopped just as soon as they
started because the majority of the bullets passed right through him, hitting
nearby trees. Mark released a shower of flames onto the remaining car and it
exploded like the others had.
And the instant the wreckage had spread, mark just disappeared. It
was clear to everyone, they were all stranded. Nate went back to the fire
place, not a word being said. Chris came to him and said: well, I know that
this is probably bad timing but, happy birthday!
THE END

Orvis Lair Halloween Party

I was excited to go to the Orvis Lair Halloween Party but we also had another invitation to another party. After we went to our neighbor's house we headed up to Bountiful to Jason and Pam's BIG party.
I was so excited to see their new house. Its taken them years to build...its almost done and its simply AMAZING to say the least. I mean what more can expect for an 8 million dollar home. It seriously was so beautiful.
I knew the costumes needed to be good, I thought they were pretty good but man all the other costumes were amazing as well. It was hard to recognize anyone there but so fun to check out all the costumes. Sara Boulters was awesome she was a chicken and the hubby was the Colonel so funny.  Lets see what else was there. Pam and Jason were vampires and his teeth where so REAL. There was Shrek and Mrsm Shrek and can't forget Jared as the transvestite or was he a woman.
I have to say they know how to throw a party and if I was a drinker I would have been in heaven...they also had a d.j. food, karaoke the works. Oh, and the pool house to DIE FOR.

Mad Hatter

I am seriously in love with this costume. And all I bought was the hat.
If I had the money I would buy the really good costumes. I hate the cheap ones.

Gabe is a Skeleton

This is the year Gabe was looking forward to trick or treating. Why at 12 was he looking forward to it? You'd think that at this age they would be done...oh, no. We have a neighbor that likes to give out 2 liter soda pops for the 12 year olds only. They all had the plan to go to his house first and drop off the soda so they could keep going but the reason he does this is to make their bags so heavy so they will stop trick or treating....funny!

Beckam is a Lion

This little costume has gone thru all of my kids because I love it so much. My sister in law made it when she was in a high school sewing class.
This year it fit Beckam perfectly and it didn't bother him when he wore it.
It was so cute to watch him walk around in it.
Thanks Julie for making such a cute costume for my kids.

Ring Week 50 of 52

Oh how I love the light in this photo its actually very close to how I took the shot. The only thing I added was a soft light layer and did the opacity at 50% and this is what I got. Its Perty!.

Board Boarding and Bryn's B-day

There's no snow....that's a good thing though. but we can use the boards from the hut.
What you do is put them on the hill, line them up one right after another and then you find yourself a small board to use as your snowboard...WALA you have board boarding.

Today is also Bryn's birthday. I cant' forget to talk about that. It was CRAZY!!!!!!!!
So here we are celebrating another year for Bryn. I can't believe its been 11 of them.
She had this crazy plan to invite 30 girls to her house for 5 hours to play games, make pizza, play soccer, go trick-or-treating, and some garbage game...not really sure what the joy in that one was but they all had to do it.
Well, to say the least Bryn had a BLAST!!!! I think it will be a memorable birthday for sure because as for me its not going to be that big again

My little Devil

She's really quite opposite of the devil but was a cute costume. I was trying out my custom white balance again. I think it makes it to yellow. I dunno what to think yet.

Its time to build a hut

Gabe's brain is always thinking of something to do, build or create. This time he wanted a hut.
He called Uncle Scott and asked if he could get some scraps at his job sites.
And then he came home with a trailer full of wood. Its a piece of Heaven for boys!

A little reading time

This little girl loves to have a story at night. A little confession, I don't have patience and the end of the day to sit down and read to everyone, I never have and I don't think I will. I just am so done with the motherly duties that all I want is for them to go bed and be quiet so I can have some peace.
I use feel bad that I don't have the patience but it is what it is. I've found other things that I am good at with the kids.
However, Greg loves it. He will sometimes read up to 2 hours at times I'm thinking 'they need to go to bed.'

Custom

Trying it out again and the top is auto while the bottom is custom. Both of them are messed up on color the top is green while the bottom is more magenta. But if I had to choose I would go with the bottom one.

Grey Card

I got my grey card. I had another but its too small. This is my attempt to get a more correct exposure. Not sure what I think yet or even if I am doing it right. Its too warm.
The top is the custom white balance also sooc. The bottom one is automatic white balance this what my photos always look like sooc...hate it. I want to get the as close as I can to perfect so I don't have to edit so friggin' much.

Fall is Here

I wanted to show how windy it was.  At first I thought how cool it would be if I could catch a falling leaf....ummmm, super hard by the way.

Just some photos I took while the family was at church. I stayed home because Beckam was sleeping and sometimes I just don't feel like going lately.
You know the whole thinking about my life lately.

Another Family Session

First I want to say how much I love this shot but later I thought of how I could make it better.
I would have moved the girl next to dad and the chair on the other side of the boys...to make a triangle. I didn't like that mom and dad are wearing the same colors because in the family photo I think mom and dad should be by each other. Also, I wished I brought a light and a tripod (been wanting to use it more for the family shot so I don't have blur). And been wanting to use a grey card so I don't have to color correct the photos so much.

Deep Thoughts

Today:

I went on a walk.
with Isaac and Beckam.
Beckam sat in the wagon.
then I thought
and thought
What do I do with my life.
I'm not happy.

conclusion: take small steps...love yourself again.

Family Photo

Just got these done tonight. And I love ‘em…and let me tell you why.
First off I want to give you a little history, about 2 years of it. The last 2 years have SUCKED big time. Pretty much sums it up. HA! Honestly I didn’t want to do photos this year because I didn’t want to look at them and have the reminder of those crappy 2 years of my life. But then, I thought about it and I do want to look back at those photos and say “Look what we have been thru” that’s pretty much what kept me going forward.
I know its said that trials and hardships make you a stronger person…I’m waiting.
Here are the details.
**Bryn has a scowl…something made her mad…actually it was Dad but he still doesn’t know what happened and then at the end I made her mad, sometimes we just can’t win.
**Beckam NEEDED the wagon to keep him trapped. Honestly he loves wagons right now.
**Elyse and Bryn have red bracelets on for Red Ribbon Week and couldn’t take them off because there will be a prize at the end of the week….awesome!
**Me. I need to lose 30-40 lbs…its true, but I still did the photo so, give me a pat on the back. I did get my makeup done to cover up all the stress on my face. Thanks Averie for the makeup
**Greg didn’t do his hair. No, wait, he did his hair but this do is called “thinking hair” you put both hands in your hair and set your head in the pals and think. It makes all your hair stick up on the sides.
**Gabe and Isaac they were awesome. Can’t even think of anything negative…dang it.
I seriously LOVE these photos. It is us perfectly. Thanks Stephanie. I really truly LOVE them.

Love little babies. I don't necessarily like to shoot them because they can be so hard but this little guy was so easy especially for being a month old.
